Design studio Helms Workshop with a total branding job for Frank, purveyors of artisan sausage.

Abit about the brand and branding:

“Frank is an Austin, Texas mecca for bacon-lovers, beer-guzzlers and encased meat enthusiasts.
I worked collaboratively with the team of owners to build a “third place” accessible to a diverse range of patrons, from tattooed hipsters to senators, local celebs and blue-collar workers hungry for a dog. Sausage is not a modest food, and the brand collateral reflects its pride and majesty. Our goal was not just to create a celebration of food, but to also build a culture and community.”

Fai-Fah is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program that began in 2010 in Bangkok by TMB Bank.
Fai-Fah, which means “light energy,” is a studio that was brought about for low-income families with children and teens to bring change through arts-related learning.
Spark redesigned two shop houses in a residential district of Bangkok to house the Fai-Fah program. The studio is made up of five floors that contain an art studio, multi-purpose “living room,” library, gallery, dance studio, and a rooftop garden. Looks like an incredibly fun and creative space for the neighborhood kids!

Clever and surprising design for the South African chain, Nando’s, Designed by Blacksheep.Blacksheep is the same design firm which made the oustanding design for Chef Jamie Oliver, in his restaurant Union Jacks.

Mexicana in Barcelona

While strolling the narrow streets of Gracia in Barcelona, I found this little Mexican restaurant, called Cantina Machito.
I couldn’t help but take pictures of nearly every detail in the restaurant, as it is such well done and thought of.

Underground Colors

An immersive mural created for the underground carpark of a private residence in Sydney, Australia.The large-scale mural has been realized by illustrating duo Craig & Karl. Painted geometric forms overlap on the floors, walls and ceiling, enlivening the space with dynamic colour.

‘Our objective was to breathe new life into the space which, having been rendered in concrete with little inlet of natural light, felt quite dark and heavy,’ say Craig Redman and Karl Maier of Craig & Karl.

They left some walls blank with the intention that these spaces could be covered with new commissions in the future. The car park is located below a residence building in Darling Point, Sydney, which was realized by Marsh Cashman Koolloos.

Redman and Maier live in New York and Sydney respectively; despite living on opposite sides of the world, they collaborate daily to create illustrations, installations and typographic patterns.

Union Jacks in centre London

Among many other things, Chef Jamie Oliver seems to find time to open Union Jacks, a new pizzeria chain, with a nostalgic design.

After opening a premium-chain of Italian restaurants, and after collaborating with American BBQ expert Adam Perry Lang on the Tom Dixon designed Barbecoa, his latest adventure brings England a good, honest British grub.

Designed by Black Sheep, Union Jack brings a design concept with up tea-cosies, vintage tellies and 1950′s colour palettes, all centered around the retro cinema-board menu and open kitchen.
The new restaurant concept, located in the heart of London in Central St Giles, is the sixth project that Blacksheep has completed with Jamie Oliver, following a successful rollout of his first restaurant chain, Jamie’s Italian.
The agency worked hand-in-hand with Jamie. His love of British culture and heritage and his enthusiasm for encouraging the nation to eat better was a central theme for the interior design of the project.
The lower ground floor is an intimate space with tables in booth settings. Antique TV screens are linked to cameras in the kitchen so diners can view the chefs at work. Bold graphics are painted on the walls and the menu uses old-school typewriter font.

And while you’re at it, you just might as well check the restaurants’ website, which is as creative and clever as the restaurants themselves (btw, they’re hiring!).
